This study frames environmental resilience as a relational capability co-produced through firm-stakeholder interactions. Integrating Stakeholder, Legitimacy, and Co-production theories, we analyze 93 global and 139 Japanese firms. Results show external engagement only mitigates risk when aligned with internal readiness, and substantive adaptation incurs immediate operational costs. |
